Work in progress fake operating system for a game idea.
When I quit my job in 2008 to become an indie game developer, I had one specific game idea in mind that I wanted to bring to life. But then I decided to start with a smaller project, one thing lead to another and now it’s 16 years later and I never got around to giving it my full attention.
But I’m still very much in love with the idea. And while I still don’t have the time to give it my full attention, I did spent the last few weekends working on one integral part of it: a fake operating system - let’s call it Nexus OS.

It’s got a very minimal BIOS, it’s got hardware and software, hard drives and file systems, you can start apps, move their windows around, resize and maximize them.
And there’s a working Terminal app that allows you to explore the file system, talk to some of the connected hardware and even remotely log into other (virtual) computers and control them.
